Junior/Senior High Ministries
A dynamic junior and senior high ministry gives young people an opportunity to grow in their Christian faith while experiencing fun and fellowship.
ACTIVITIES
Young people enjoy pizza parties, movie nights, progressive dinners, trips, concerts, sporting events, and many other gatherings at church. There are also fund-raising events during the year, including a fall carnival, baked potato bars, and the sale of submarine sandwiches on Super Bowl Sunday.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
The youth program also stresses service to the church and to the community. Our young people participate in charity walks, community clean-ups, and in projects such as Teen Christmas which ensures that needy teenagers receive gifts for the holidays.
NATIONAL YOUTH GATHERINGS
Emanuel youth look forward to participation in national youth gatherings of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Jesus Justice Jazz is the theme for the 2009 gathering which will take place during July in New Orleans. More than 30,000 young people from 64 synods have already registered for the event. The focus will be on service as well as education and fellowship.
