Small Group Ministries
FELLOWSHIP GROUPS
Emanuel has several fellowship groups that encourage Christian friendship and support. The groups organize dinners, schedule social events, and assist with special ministries like the Sunday Coffee Hour and Lenten Soup suppers. One group annually hosts a Shrove Tuesday pancake dinner as a fund-raiser, benefiting a community service agency.
WOMEN OF THE EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH IN AMERICA (WELCA)
All women of Emanuel are members of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Small groups (called circles) meet monthly at church or members’ homes for Bible study and fellowship. WELCA also conducts outreach projects and hosts a ladies’ tea, educational retreats, and other special events. WELCA is well known in for its annual Christmas cookie sale benefiting a worthwhile cause.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEN
Men of Emanuel meet the second Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m. for morning coffee, Bible study, and fellowship; and on thee fourth Thursday at noon for a fellowship luncheon. Men of Emanuel also prepare pancake breakfasts for Easter, Consecration Sunday, and other events during the year.
SPORTS AT EMANUEL
Emanuel participates in church athletic leagues for golf, softball, and volleyball. The competition promotes physical activity and great fellowship with teammates and Christians from other churches. Our teams often finish near the top in the standings.
SENIOR VIP CLUB
Emanuel has an active Senior VIP Club. Seniors are invited to a covered-dish dinner on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 12:30 p.m. A brief and interesting program is shared, and both the fellowship and food are outstanding.
