Tim Carey - Pastor
Pastor Tim Carey has a passion for preaching and for stirring God’s people to living and serving God faithfully in daily life. He has served Emanuel since 2000 and recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of his ordination. Pastor Tim’s undergraduate degree is in Speech and Theater Education, and he earned his Masters of Divinity from Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He and his wife Jean have been married for 30 years and have 3 children: Bryan, Meghan, and Janelle. In his free time Pastor Tim enjoys spending time with family, playing an occasional round of golf, or working in the yard. He has been involved in local community leadership initiatives such as Leadership Reno County and also writes for the Hutchinson News.
Phil Vickers – Pastor of Family Life Ministries
Phil Vickers is Emanuel’s Pastor of Family Life Ministries. He moved to Hutchinson in January from Darrouzett, Texas, a small town in the Texas panhandle, where he was Pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Phil is from Carrollton, MS. He attended Mississippi State University where he earned a degree in English and met his wife, Cheryl, who has a degree in visual merchandising. Pastor Phil later attended the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC, and completed the Clinical Pastoral Education course at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. His internship was at Augsburg Lutheran Church in Winston Salem, NC. Pastor Phil has one daughter, Autumn, who was born at the end of his senior year at seminary. In fact. he graduated in absentia because his wife and daughter were still in the hospital. Pastor Phil said he is happy to be here in Hutchinson and looks forward to working in a warm and welcoming town.
